Understanding the Living Explanation of the Quran
The Hadith is the recorded guidance of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ—his words, actions, approvals, and character. Together with the Holy Quran, Hadith forms the foundation of Islamic understanding, practice, and ethics.
At mydearbook.com, we present Hadith not as distant historical reports, but as living guidance that explains how the Quran was understood, practiced, and embodied by the Prophet ﷺ himself.
Why Hadith Is Essential
The Quran gives divine guidance.
The Hadith shows how to live it.
Without Hadith, many core aspects of Islam would remain incomplete, such as:
How to pray correctly
How to fast, give charity, and perform Hajj
How to deal with family, neighbors, and society
How to balance worship, character, and daily life
Hadith provides practical clarity to divine instruction.
What Is Included in Hadith?
Hadith includes:
Sayings of the Prophet ﷺ
Actions he performed
Approvals of actions done in his presence
Personal character and behavior
Each Hadith is carefully preserved through a chain of narration (Isnād) and text (Matn), making it one of the most rigorously authenticated historical traditions in the world.
Authenticity and Classification of Hadith
Islamic scholars developed a precise system to protect Hadith from distortion. Based on authenticity, Hadith is classified as:
Ṣaḥīḥ (Authentic)
Ḥasan (Good)
Ḍaʿīf (Weak)
Mawḍūʿ (Fabricated)
At mydearbook.com, we focus on authentic and well-established Hadith, presenting them with clarity and scholarly responsibility.
Famous Collections of Hadith
Some of the most trusted Hadith collections include:
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī
Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim
Sunan Abū Dāwūd
Jāmiʿ al-Tirmidhī
Sunan al-Nasāʾī
Sunan Ibn Mājah
These works are the result of lifelong scholarly dedication, travel, verification, and deep reverence for truth.
Important Clarification
There is no single, universally agreed ranking of Hadith books across all Muslims. Rankings depend on school of thought, methodology, and scholarly criteria. What follows is a widely accepted Sunni scholarly perspective, arranged from most authentic and rigorously verified to less rigorous, based on classical Hadith sciences, chains of narration, and acceptance by generations of scholars.
Only Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim are considered universally authentic in their entirety by Sunni scholars. All other books contain a mix of sahih, hasan, da‘if, and occasionally very weak narrations, which is why scholarly verification is essential.
